This past week, Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar Jr. was linked to a move away from the French capital with the likely destination being a Premier League club, considering they could afford his high wages.
Of the English side that would have a possible interest in the 30-year-old is Chelsea, considering The Blues could be seeing departures at the forward group which has already begun with Romelu Lukaku leaving on loan to Inter Milan.
As a result, former Paris Saint-Germain and current Chelsea defender Thiago Silva spoke with Jornal do Commercio, where he played the recruiter role, hoping to reunite with his former teammate with the London-based club.
“Neymar must go to Chelsea. If that happens, it will be for the best. At the moment, I am not aware of anything, but I hope it will come to fruition,” Silva said.
It’s unlikely Neymar left after signing a contract extension last year, and reports have suggested that the Brazil international is keen on helping this new project under new sporting advisor Luis Campos.
Neymar is under contract until 2025, with some reports detailing a contract until 2027; regardless, the forward will be in the French capital for the foreseeable future.
