Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Real Sociedad are in talks to sign Tottenham midfielder Bryan Gil. A player that Sociedad tried to sign before Spurs last summer, and then on loan in January.
Gil, 21, joined Tottenham last summer for a fee of £21.6million – and Erik Lamela going the other way, to Sevilla. But he struggled during the first half of 2021-22, failing to score and only registering one assist.
He joined Valencia on loan in January, and enjoyed a solid spell. Recent reports claim Valencia want to keep him on loan for 2022-23, but Spurs are only willing to let him join a side on loan in European action.
Step forward, Real Sociedad. They finished in sixth place, qualifying for the Europa League. MD claim Sociedad want Gil, having tried to get him before Spurs – and the on loan in January. Talks are underway.

Real Sociedad in talks to sign Tottenham midfielder Gil
Gil needs to go up a level from Valencia, but if he has any chance of making it at Tottenham – he needs to shine on the European stage. Real Sociedad gives him the perfect platform to thrive.
He remains in his home nation of Spain, where he clearly feels most comfortable. He has the ability to shine in Sociedad’s side, especially with the La Liga outfit having plenty of games to play across 2022-23.
Should Tottenham consider a permanent sale? If they can get their money back, then yes. But surely, Fabio Paratici would prefer to give him a real chance to make it at Spurs before deciding to cash in.
