Six Liverpool players have been named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for the 2021-22 season.
Mohamed Salah is joined by team-mates Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane in the combined XI.
Champions Manchester City players see only three players included: Joao Cancelo, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva. De Bruyne was voted as the Premier League Player of the Season in May.
Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo makes it into the team after scoring 18 league goals, while former Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger — who has sealed a summer move to Real Madrid — is also included after keeping 14 clean sheets in 34 Premier League matches.
Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min misses out on a place in the forward line, despite netting 23 Premier League goals — the joint highest tally in the division.
There is also no room for Phil Foden, who scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions.
Only Salah, De Bruyne and Cancelo retained their places from the team of 2020-21.
